How much does brand identity cost?
What a brand identity includes, how long it takes and what changes the price, with King Tide’s fixed price as a reference.
Short answer
A brand identity project at King Tide is $3,500 and takes four to eight weeks, from kickoff to guidelines. That covers strategy, the identity system and guidelines. Naming, motion and a launch site can be added, and we quote those up front. All prices are in US dollars.
What a brand identity includes
A logo is one piece. A brand identity is the system around it, so your product, deck, site and social look like one company.
- Positioning: the story, audience and message that make you the obvious choice.
- Logo and identity: wordmark, symbol and the system that flexes around them.
- Type and color: a palette and type system built for screens first.
- Guidelines: a living brand book with templates your team will use.
The identity is applied across product, web, deck and social while it is designed, so it ships ready to use.
How long it takes
| When | Phase | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| Week 1 | Discover | Founder interviews, market audit and a sharp positioning statement. |
| Week 2 | Define | Name, story and creative territories to react to. |
| Weeks 3 to 6 | Design | Identity system, applied across product, web, deck and social. |
| Weeks 7 to 8 | Launch | Guidelines, templates, site and launch assets delivered. |
What changes the price
- Naming: an optional phase that runs alongside positioning, so the name and the story are built together.
- Motion: logo animation and motion principles for product and social.
- Launch site: designed and built in Framer, so you go live with the new brand on day one.
Each one is quoted up front, before the project starts. If you already have a brand, we can evolve it instead of starting over.
Logo, brand identity or a refresh
| What you need | What you get | When it makes sense |
|---|---|---|
| A logo | A mark on its own | Testing an idea before you launch or raise |
| A brand identity | Positioning, logo, type, color and guidelines that work together | You are launching or raising, or your deck, site and app look like three companies |
| A brand refresh | An evolution of what you already have | You have recognition worth keeping, but the brand holds you back |
Examples
BeatBox got its brand identity, packaging and website from King Tide and was later acquired by Anheuser-Busch. DrinkAde was built end to end: identity, packaging, a Shopify site and in-store displays. Stacked Sauces got its identity, packaging, website and marketing collateral.
Questions
How long does a brand take?
Most identities take four to eight weeks from kickoff to guidelines, depending on whether naming is included.
Do you do naming?
Yes. Naming is an optional phase that runs alongside positioning, so the name and the story are built together.
Will you build the website too?
Yes. Every identity can include a launch site, designed and built in Framer, so you go live with the new brand on day one.
Can you refresh an existing brand?
Yes. We can evolve what you already have instead of starting over, keeping the recognition you’ve earned while fixing what holds you back.
